Equito Public Testnet​

After a Private Testnet program which ran in May and June 2024, Equito launched a Public Testnet on July 9th 2024, minting the first block at 08:38:40 AM UTC.

The purpose of this Public Testnet is to showcase the Equito Network and its capabilities to the community. It is also a great opportunity for developers to build and test their cross-chain applications and smart contracts using the Equito Protocol.

Validators​

The Public Testnet is a permissioned network, which uses the Proof of Authority (PoA) block-authoring mechanism. Validators are selected by the Equito Team and are responsible for validating messages and producing new blocks.

An incentive program is in the works, and will be announced in the following weeks.

Testnet Routers​

To facilitate communication between different chains, Equito uses smart contracts called Routers, which act as the communication hubs. Exactly one Router is deployed on each chain that is supported by Equito. Every chain has a unique Chain Selector, which is used to identify the chain in the Equito Protocol.

Router contracts have been deployed on 20 testnets, with more to come. Here is a list of addresses for each testnet we are currently supporting:
